1964 Corvette "Miss Mako" "Miss Mako" is a one-of-a-kind feminine replica of Bill Mitchell's orginal '61 Mako Shark I concept car. Mr. Mitchell caught a mako shark while shark fishing which is how the '63-67' Corvette model style came about. "Miss Mako" was restored by her owner, Joan Spoerndle with the deicated helpers mentioned below, and has since covered over 80,000 miles since January of 2001 helping organizations raise money for their local charities. States Joan, "I'm known as the Mako Mama! I was pregnant for 17 months with "Miss Mako" and I'm too old to be a Miss anything!!"
To date, St. Jude's Childrens Hospital, American Red Cross, American Diabetes Association for research of childhood Cancer and many more have benefited from their efforts.
